At seventeen, missing the cut has to feel awful. On the other hand, getting this far is a great accomplishment for anyone, so a seventeen year old has plenty of reason to be pleased. Nevertheless, over two thirds of contestants have been eliminated from the Optimist International Junior Golf Championships at the PGA National Resort & Spa.

Defending champ and local, A.J. Crouch of Jacksonville led the qualifiers.
